THE BEAUTIES OF
THE VALLEY OF ITRIA

The Valley of Itria is one of Italy’s most popular holiday destinations. The natural beauty, the architecture and the landscape make this area of Murgia dei Trulli a major attraction for international visitors. This demand has created a large number of gastronomic offers and numerous events throughout the year. Of particular interest are the historic centres, characterised by narrow streets and alleys, paved with local Chianche, and lined with whitewashed houses and flower-decked balconies. The vast historic centre of Martina Franca is unique in its mix of traditional characteristics and Baroque elements while the tiny centre of Cisternino, considered one of the 100 most beautiful borghi of Italy, has a rustic, rural character and Locorotondo, where the pitched roofs are tiled with chiancarelle, has a panoramic vantage point overlooking the beautiful valley.
